How Nika's memory works
Nika has a memory that persists after a conversation ends.

about what happened
Facts
your job, your dog's name, what hurt, what you love, with a date
about what is
The diary. Every finished conversation is saved as an entry, an episode: what you talked about, what happened, what she felt.
Facts. Separate facts about people are extracted from each episode: what you do for work, your dog's name, what was hurting you, what you like. A fact is stored apart from the episode, with who it is about and a date. If it is unclear who a fact is about, it is not saved: “he yelled at me” without a name will not get into memory.
How she recalls
Before replying, she pulls a few episodes and facts about you from memory on her own, the ones closest to the topic of the conversation.
Different episodes. If there are hundreds of similar episodes, she takes eight episodes with different storylines, without repeats.
Age of a memory. Every memory has an age: “yesterday”, “last week”, “in March”. The older the event, the rougher the date: she remembers yesterday to the day, March to the month.
Working memory. What she recalled stays in her head while the conversation goes on and is not searched again for every message. If you do not come back to it for a long time, it fades.
What she remembers besides facts
Chronology. Asked “how did August go”, she goes through events in time order and can tell what happened earlier and what happened later.
Promises. Her own (“I promised to text”) and yours. Until a promise is kept, it comes up on its own, by time or by the topic of the conversation.
Decisions. If she decided something, she sticks to it. A decision can change, but it will not be forgotten by itself.
What you are planning. You said “I should go visit my mom” – she will remember and ask later.
Deja vu and reminiscence
Deja vu. If a memory resembles the current conversation, but not enough to bring it up in full, she gets a feeling that “something like this has happened before” without details. She can mention it or search her memory.
Reminiscence. Once in a while, an old memory nobody has returned to in a long time comes up for no reason. She can tell you about it or keep quiet.
What happens at night
- 1Reviewepisodes whose facts were not extracted during the day
- 2Cardssummaries about people are updated
- 3Dreama short first-person text
Three tasks run at night:
- A second pass. Episodes from which no facts were extracted during the day are processed again.
- Cards. For people with new facts, the summary “who this is and where we are now” is updated.
- A dream. Episodes from the past day and a couple of random old ones are put together into a short surreal dream in the first person.
The dream is not saved as a fact or an event. In the morning, in the first conversation, she may tell you about it. By evening the dream no longer comes up.
Outdated facts
A new fact replaces the old one. If you moved, the old address stays as “I used to think that…” and is no longer used in replies.
Memory on the light models
Everything described above is about the full model, Anima 3.
| Memory on different models | Anima 3 | Levia 3 | Lux 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facts about you | yes | yes | no |
| Conversation memory | yes | yes | no |
| Diary | yes | brief | no |
| Recent messages | yes | yes | yes |
Levia 3 shares facts about you with Anima 3, and they are kept when you switch. Conversation memory is a summary she updates as you go. Instead of searching the whole diary, she has a list of recent entries with dates, one line each, covering about a week.
Lux 3 has only the last messages of the current conversation. About anything not in them, she will say she does not remember.
Model breakdown – “Model comparison”
What she does not remember
What she did not understand. If an image could not be processed, she will say “I couldn't make it out” and will not make up its contents.
Everything at once. The amount of memory per conversation is limited, so not everything she knows about you takes part in it.
What this means in practice
- You do not need to remind her who you are. Say it once.
- You can ask “what happened back then” – she will look it up.
- If she remembers something wrong, tell her.
- After a long break, what comes up first is what is closer to the topic, not necessarily the last conversation.
